HOUNDMADE Martingale Couture Collars by Hendricks and Maple are created for hounds who appreciate fine design, comfort, and craftsmanship. Each piece from our HOUNDMADE by Hendricks and Maple Martingale Couture Collection is individually handcrafted, blending timeless elegance with practical design for a collar that fits as beautifully as it looks.
Available in six sizes — MINI, XS, S, M, L and XL — and four widths — 25mm, 30mm, 38mm and 50mm — to suit every hound’s build:
XL (50mm width only): for very large breeds such as Irish Wolfhounds, very large Great Danes, and other giant breeds - this size would be rarely required and only made on request.
L (50mm and 38mm widths): for Great Danes, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Bulldogs, Rottweilers, Mastiffs, Huskies, and Dobermans.
M (50mm and 38mm widths): for Collies, Spaniels, Beagles, Pointers, Weimaraners, Small Staffies, and French Bulldogs.
S (38mm, 30mm and 25mm widths): for Greyhounds, Boston Terriers, Pugs, and Basenjis.
XS (30mm and 25mm widths): for Whippets, Jack Russells, Maltese, Shih Tzus, and Miniature Poodles.
MINI (25mm width only) Italian Greyhounds.
Because every collar is handmade, slight variations make each one unique. If your hound doesn’t fit perfectly within our size chart, simply contact us — we’ll happily create a custom-sized HOUNDMADE Martingale Couture Collar just for them.
Each collar is crafted from premium materials with thoughtful attention to detail, designed for comfort, durability, and understated luxury. A refined statement piece for hounds who know that true style is all in the details.
Most common Greyhound size is size S in a 50mm or 38mm width, most common Whippet size is an XS with a 38mm width and most common for Italian Greyhound is size MINI typically with a 25mm width. This is just a suggestion though and you want to go by the size chart and measure your hound of course.
PRODUCT INFO & CARE
All of the HOUNDMADE Martingale Collars are handmade in Australia by Hendricks and Maple using available braiding and fabrics. We are therefore able to customise a length to suit your hound if these sizes do not work for your hound within the limitations of braids in widths we can acquire. Contact us if you need a particular length of collar to be customised for you. Our size chart is based on most commonly required sizes.

NOTE the above measurements are quoted in inches and in cms below. The inches are nice even measurements but when corresponding to cms we've rounded down to the closest cm. They are handmade and can vary slightly to the above chart.
Measure your hounds neck and add a few cms or fingers under the tape for comfort and if you are close to the edge of a size we recommend you go up a size. Depending on the breed you may prefer a wider width collar but in a smaller size so we have different widths within the sizes available. Make sure the collar design you select will not be too wide or small on your pets neck as well as the adjustment is correct.
For custom lengths - yes we can make but we can not get every braid in all three widths some only come in 50mm, 38mm, 30mm or 25mm widths for example which is the limitation on braided martingale designs.
XL is our largest collar we only make it in 5cms widths but happy to customise this size in narrower widths if required.
All of the breeds listed beside the sizes are SUGGESTIONS ONLY - you must measure your own dog and check which size is right for them including the widths of the collar not just the adjustment length.
Because XL is very large we do not have many at any given time, we use 50mm braid to make them and will typically make it for you so contact us if there is no size XL available and you require it.
The most common sizes for GREYHOUNDS are size M in 50mm and 38mm widths and the most common sizes for WHIPPETS are the size S in 38mm widths and the most common size for ITALIAN GREYHOUNDS is size XS in 25mm widths.
EXCHANGE & REFUND POLICY

If however there is a problem here are our exchange and return policies:
Refunds are only provided on items that are faulty or incorrectly supplied. You can obtain a store credit for incorrect sizes or change of mind purchases within 30 days of purchase if the goods are in the same condition as received with all tags and labels still attached, in the original packaging and unused. Unfortunately we cannot cover postage costs for returning these items and any store credit will not include shipping costs as they are not refundable.
Before returning any goods to us for either faulty or incorrect items, refunds, exchanges or change of mind purchases please email us at hendricksandmaple@gmail.com with your name, order number and invoice number and date purchased with photos of the product within 7 days of receipt for faulty items and within 30 days of purchase for incorrect sizing/change of mind and we will reply to you as soon as possible to resolve the situation. Please don't just send products without speaking with us first.
For faulty goods please provide photos of the problem and we will discuss returning the item to us for inspection. We will send a replacement to you (or refund if no stock is available) once your refund is approved. All goods are checked prior to sending that they are not faulty and will arrive to you in great condition. If something is missing from your order please contact us immediately.
If you have ordered an incorrect size or have change of mind we will do our best to exchange the item for the size you require, stock depending, or exchange for a same-priced product however we can not cover postage expenses and you will need to return the item back to us for processing first at your expense before we can issue an exchange. The item must be in the condition it was received with all tags and labels still attached, in original packaging and unused to be approved for exchange. Please email us first within 30 days of purchase to discuss before returning.
We will exchange your item for another size if approved or if we do not have stock exchange for another same-priced product. In some circumstances we will give you a store credit. Shipping costs will not be covered in a store credit or exchange agreement however as these charges are not refundable.

We use Australia Post standard domestic parcel service in international post to send our goods. Please see final shipping cost which will be calculated in the checkout section and based on the weight of your total order. Some items covered by standard rate shipping.
